Public Transport in Bamberg
Conference (Tu-Fr): "An der Spinnerei" (line 906), "Schweinfurter Straße" (line 916), "Regensburger Ring" (line 906/938)
Dinner (Th): Konzerthalle (line 906)
DaSCit (Mo): Lagarde Kaserne (line 901)
From Bamberg train station you can either walk by foot (~40 minutes), drive by taxi (~10 minutes) or take the bus (30 minutes) with an interchange at ZOB. At Bamberg train station, you have to exit through the main entrance, cross the street, turn right, walk to the bus station "Bahnhof/Ludwigstr", take any bus and change at "ZOB" to line 906 (or 916).
Unfortunately, the Bamberg bus network, which replaced the superior light rail in 1922, is not straight-forward: the bus stations next to the conference venue are "An der Spinnerei" (line 906), "Schweinfurter Straße" (line 916), and "Regensburger Ring" (line 906/938). Lines 906/916 work during the day, line 938 works during the evening. There are also special unreliable bus services (line 994/995) for school children connecting the train station with "An der Spinnerei".
In the direction back from the conference venue to the train station, you should leave at "Deutsches Haus" from where you can walk by foot or enter any bus at "Luitpoldstraße" to travel one station.
The DaSCit symposium on Monday takes place at Lagarde, reachable by bus 901.
The Dinner on Thursday takes place next to the conference venue in the congress hall, reachable by a ten minutes walk. The closest bus station is "Konzerthalle".
